Gautam Kapadi, CEO of Luke Coutinho Holistic Healing Systems (LCHHS), has outlined key recommendations for the Union Budget 2025 to enhance India’s healthcare sector by emphasizing preventive care and improving accessibility.

“Ahead of the Union Budget 2025, I believe we have a significant opportunity to shape the future of healthcare in India by focusing on preventive care and improving accessibility. A roadmap to gradually increase healthcare spending in alignment with global standards will be essential to address the growing healthcare needs of our population,” Kapadi stated.

Kapadi advocated for better allocation of resources to preventive healthcare, which can help reduce the burden of chronic diseases and ultimately lower healthcare costs. He also recommended tax reductions on wellness packages to make them more affordable, enabling greater adoption of early-stage health interventions.

“Reducing tax rates on health insurance premiums and including wellness packages within the coverage will encourage individuals to invest in their health. This would make health insurance more comprehensive by focusing on prevention as much as treatment,” he added.

Kapadi concluded by emphasizing that adopting these measures in the budget could create a roadmap for a healthier and more sustainable healthcare system in India. The wellness and healthcare sectors await impactful policy changes to support the nation’s health and well-being.
