The Document related to Vijay Mallya case gone missing from Supreme Court, next hearing is on August 20. A bench comprising Justice U.U Lalit and Ashok Bhushan has adjourned the hearing to August 20.

The Supreme Court was hearing the review plea filed  by Mallya against the Judgement of 14th July 2017 where he was found guilty of contempt of Court for not paying the dues of Rs 9,000 crore to banks despite constant charge, despite the fact he transferred $40 million to his children accounts.

The bench wanted to reply to the intervened application, which seems to be missing from the case papers. Parties involve in the case  sought more time to file fresh copies. On June 19, the Supreme Court asked explanation  from its registry regarding Mallya’s appeal against May 2017 conviction for the contempt of court of not  repaying dues of  Rs 9000 crore to banks .

A bench  of Justice Lalit and Bhushan had asked to provide all the details including names of the officials who handled the file concerning the Review Petition for last three years. The bench said according to the record, placed before it , the review pitition was not listed before the court for last three years.

” Before we deal with the submissions raised in the review Pitition, we direct the registry to explain why the Review Pitition was not losted before the concerned Court for last three years,” said bench.

On May 2017 , the Supreme Court found him guilty of contempt of court for transferring $ 40 million to his children and ask him to appear on July 10 to argue on the amount of punishment he should receive. The bench said let him bring the explanation within two weeks. ” The Review Pitition shall thereafter, considered on merit ” it added. In 2017 Supreme Court held him for the contempt of court by consortium of banks led by SBI.

Banks claims that Mallya has transferred $40 million to his childrens accounts but didn’t cleared his dept. Banks opined that this as the violation of court orders.
