New Delhi, Oct 28 : State-owned power major NTPC on Saturday reported 38.29% year-on-year rise in consolidated net profit at Rs 4,726.40 crore for the July-September quarter (Q2) of current financial year 2023-24.
The company had posted a profit of Rs 3,417.67 crore in the Q2 of previous financial year.
NTPC’s revenue from operations during the September quarter of the current financial year stood at Rs 44,983.35 crore, up 1.8% compared to Rs 44,175.03 crore in the corresponding quarter a year ago.
The NTPC board has approved the first interim dividend of Rs 2.25 per equity share of face value of Rs 10 each for the financial year 2023-24.
NTPC group generated 212 billion units in the first half of FY24 (H1 FY24) as compared to 204 billion units in H1 FY23.
“NTPC’s standalone gross generation in H1 FY24 is 179 billion units as compared to 176 billion units in the corresponding previous period,” the company said in a media release.
NTPC coal stations achieved a plant load factor of 76.62% as against the national average of 68.75 % during H1 FY24.
