ICICI Bank’s ED says data breach reports are ‘baseless & mischievous’

ICICI Bank in its earnings call on Saturday said that reports over data breach of 3.5 million credit card records are ‘baseless’ and the bank does not own or manage the said URLs. This comes in after CyberNews on Friday reported that over 3.6 million ICICI Bank files, which had the bank’s and its clients’ information were leaked from a publicly accessible cloud storage bucket managed by DigitalOcean, a New York-based cloud service provider.

Sandeep Batra, Executive Director, ICICI Bank, in the bank’s earnings call, said, “The reports are baseless on some 3.5 million credit card records being leaked. The Bank does not own or manage the said URLs. The article is baseless, mischievous and we are committed to maintaining the security of our customers’ data.”
