On Saturday, the petrol price crossed Rs 82 mark in Delhi. While diesel surpassed Rs 72 per litre after eight increases in rate in nine days.
Petrol price was increased by 24 paise per litre, and diesel was increased by 27 paise due to the development of a vaccine. It rallied in international oil prices.
In Delhi, petrol prices rose to Rs 82.13 per litre from Rs 81.89. Similarly, Diesel rates went up from Rs 71.86 to Rs 72.13 per litre.
Since November 20, this is the eighth increase in rates. Oil companies have resumed their daily price revision after two weeks.
In nine days, the petrol price has gone up by Rs 1.07 per litre, and the diesel rate has risen by Rs 1.67. Before November 20, petrol prices had been static since September 22. However, diesel rates hadn’t changed since October 2.
Public sector oil marketing companies like Indian Oil Corporation, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd, and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd, revised their rates of petrol and diesel daily, based on benchmark international oil price and foreign exchange rate.
In Mumbai, on Sunday, the petrol price was raised to Rs 88.81 per litre from Rs 88.58. Diesel rates went up from Rs 78.38 to Rs 78.66 per litre.
