
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will attend the G-20 joint Finance and Health Ministers gathering in Rome on October 29, which will address COVID-19 pandemic restriction and response.

Finance and health ministers will address driving to respond to the pandemic and develop further coordination compromises between health and finance ministries.
On October 29, G20 Finance and Health Ministers will meet in Rome for their first joint meeting under the Italian G20 Presidency. The meeting will be co-chaired by Daniele Franco, Italian Minister of Economy and Finance and Roberto Speranza, Italian Minister of Health.
The conference will take place on the eve of the G20 Leaders’ Summit in Rome on October 30-31, 2021. The Ministers of Economy and Finance usually take part in the event. The Summit is the final of the G20 process and the last stage, at the Leaders’ level, of the heavy effort done within Ministerial Meetings, Working Groups and Engagement Groups throughout the year.
The working meetings of Heads of State and Government will take place at the Rome Convention Centre ‘La Nuvola’, in the city’s EUR district.The Rome Summit will be the 16th G20 meeting at the level of Heads of State and Government. The first was held at Washington in November 2008 and the last meeting was held virtually under the Saudi Presidency, in November 2020.
