1.’Bhuj The Pride Of India’ (2021)
Bollywood drama, helmed by Abhishek Dudhaiya, this film stars actors Ajay Devgn, Sanjay Dutt, Rana Dahuubati, Sonashk SinhamParineeti Chopra, and Ammy Virk as the lead characters. This film is in for the celebration of the 300 women of Madhapur in Gujarat led by their IAF squadron leader Vijay Karnik who played a pivotal part in the Indian story of the 1971 Indo-Pak war.
2. ‘Hindustan Ki Kasam’ (1973)
Directed by Chetan Anand, this film is based on operation cactus lily, which had taken place during the 1971 conflict. Balraj Sahni, Raaj Kumar, Priya Rajvanshand among other notable actors were cast in this film.
3. ‘Akraman’ (1975)
This film was directed by J.Om Prakash and written by Sachin Bhowmick, was based on and was inspired by the camaraderie that was shared by Indian troops, alongside their romantic lives and families outside the 1971 infamous war. Featuring stellar artists, this film included Sanjeev Kumar, Ashok Kumar, Rekha, and Rakesh Roshan.
4. ‘Border’ (1997)
Perhaps one of the finest military films ever made in Bollywood, ‘Border’ was based on true events that occurred during the fight of Longeala in 1971. J.P Dutta directed this film, casting Sunny Deol, Suniel Shetty, Jackie Sharoff, and others. This film received the National Award for Best Film on National Integration.
5. ‘Raazi’ (2018)
Based on a Kashmiri girl, ‘Raazi’ showed how her father works as a RAW agent and how her marriage to a Pakistani soldier, a sacrifice made all for ‘Watan’, one’s nation. This covered the 1971 Indo-Pak conflict. Directed by Meghana Gulzar, this film stars Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal.
