The 66th Vimal Elaichi Filmfare Awards was announced recently. 2020 was a tough year for the film fraternity, as it was for the whole world. But the industry kept on creating magic on-screen for the audience despite difficult circumstances.
During the announcement of the Best Actor in a Leading Role (Male), a sense of sadness prevailed as the award went to the late Irrfan Khan. Taapsee Pannu won the award for the Best Actor in a Leading Role (Female) and Thappad won the Best Film award.
While Big B took home the black lady for Best Actor (Critics), Tilotima Shome was announced as the Best Actress (Critics) for Sir. The Best Debut (Female) went to Alaya F for her role in Jawaani Jaaneman and her co-star Saif Ali Khan won the award for the Best Supporting Actor (Male).
The black lady for the Best Director was won by Tanhaji director, Om Raut. Filmfare also announced the Best Shortfilm Award and it was no surprise that ‘Devi’ won it!
