- Following the confession by Kishore Kumar’s son Amit Kumar that he was forced into complimenting the candidates during a special episode honouring his late father, singer Sunidhi Chauhan has come forward with her own disclosures about Indian Idol and the premise of singing reality programmes.
Sunidhi told ETimes TV that throughout her days, she was also asked to say positive things to the participants. The singer stated that she would be unable to maintain the performance for a long period of time. “Not exactly this that everyone had to do this, but yes, we all were told (to praise). That was the basic thing. And so, I couldn’t go on. I couldn’t do what they wanted and I had to part ways. Hence, today, I am not judging any reality show,” stated Sunidhi.
When questioned why the producers are so concerned about conveying the idea that every competitor is doing a fantastic job on the show, Sunidhi responded, “I think it is done to get attention.” I believe it is necessary to do so in order to keep your audience’s attention. G guess it works.”
Sunidhi Chuahan was a judge on Indian Idol Seasons 5 and 6 for those who don’t know or have forgotten. Aside from that, the celebrated singer has served as a judge on reality series such as The Voice and Dil Hai Hindustani.
