‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ star Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal accuses producer Asit Modi of sexual harassment – Deets inside

Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal, who plays Mrs. Roshan Sodhi in ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah,’ has accused producer Asit Modi and two others of sexual harassment at work.

Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal has accused producer Asit Modi, Project Head Sohail Ramani, and executive producer Jatin Bajaj of sexual harassment in the workplace. She last appeared on the show on March 7.Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal confirmed the news to ETimes and said, “Yes, I’ve left the show. It is right that I shot my last episode of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah on March 6 this year. I had to leave the sets as I was subjected to humiliation and insult at the hands of Mr Sohil Ramani and the other executive producer Jatin Bajaj.”

When questioned further, she detailed the entire episode, claiming that despite requesting a half-day off for her wedding anniversary and Holi (March 7), she was not given even a two-hour break. When she retaliated, Project Head Sohail Ramani harshly asked her to leave approximately four times. Her car was stopped too.

She added that the male actors were accommodated and referred to the production as a ‘very male-chauvinistic place’.

Jennifer said as well that she remained silent for so long since the show “has given her everything” and she is appreciative. She also claimed that everyone on the show is a “bonded labourer.”She further stated that Asit Modi, the producer, Asit Modi has made numerous sexual advances towards her in the past, which she has ignored out of fear of losing her job.

‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ is Indian television’s longest running sitcom.
