Shark Tank India premiered its episode 01 of highly-awaited season 02 on January 02, 2023 – the first Monday of 2023. It already go itself in a controversy when Sharks didn’t invest in a cosmetics brand since it was in direct conflict and competition with Vineeta Singh’s brand, Sugar cosmetics.
In the first three episodes up until now, we also saw a rather hilarious turn of events when musician Mayur Jumani made a song out of the most often said lines by the Sharks from Season 01 of the Indian adaptation of the American show of the same name telecast on American Broadcasting Company.
Season 02 is also dealing with its own share of love and criticism from the audiences of the show. Some netizens feel makers have created this season into Indian Idol type of a TRP-driven show, where emotional drama is given more focus to than business-related pitches and conversations.
On the other hand, many feel an even better vibe for Shark Tank India season 02. They loved the beginning of episode one where Namita Thappar an Vineeta Singh visited one of the pitchers from season 01 and gave the cheque to them and invested in their firm. This made the viewers quite emotional and enthusiastic to keep watching the reality tv show.
Following this, Founder CEO of iWebTechno Akshay Shah took to his Twitter account to tweet criticism about the way Shark Tank India runs. In his tweet, he said, “2 days, both pitchers who could cry and beg on screen and who showed they are desperate got the monies, this is the mantra to raise monies on #SharkTankIndiaS2 – Proud of my tankers in #SharkTankIndiaS1 we fucked the sharks & came back, we din cry, period!”
