India’s most loved comedy show, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has just completed 12 years July 28 2020, and now there are reports saying that actress Neha Mehta, who plays Anjali Mehta on the comedy show, may be quitting. Neha has been a part of the show since the very first episode that was aired 12 years back!
It is being claimed that Neha Mehta had given prior information to the producers about not continuing further before the post lockdown shoots began. It is also being said that she is not even reporting at sets of TMKOC. Neha plays the onscreen wife of Taarak Mehta (Shailesh Lodha). Her role is of a dietitian who keeps making bland food for Taarak which he does not like.
If speculations around Neha quitting TMKOC are true then it will indeed be sad news for fans of the show who are still anticipating the return of Disha Vakani aka Dayaben.
As TMKOC completed 12 years since its first episode, there was a wave of happiness among the cast and crew. The long success of the show was celebrated by cutting cake and exchanging wishes on the sets at Film City. Show’s lead actor Dilip Joshi, in an interview, expressed that amid the coronavirus scenario it is a huge pressure on the team to entertain the audience just like the old times. But, the team is trying its best.
Dilip had told Mumbai Mirror, “It’s tough, but we are trying our best. You have to forget everything in front of the camera and let yourself be transported to a different world. We keep improvising on set.”
