With the Bigg Boss OTT 3 finale coming up soon, the atmosphere in the house is very tense. A press conference was held by Bigg Boss  makers recently where journalists had a chance to question contestants. During this press conference, questions were fired at Armaan Malik and Kritika Malik due to their polygamous relationship, leading to debates among both participants and viewers accusing them of treating women badly.

Meanwhile, fellow contestant Ranvir Shorey pointed out that such romantic relationships have been praised by some big names in the movie industry over the years as well as by its audience. He said, “Agar aap urban, elite, liberal hote jaise bahut hai jinke 2 biwi hai, main naam nahi lena chahta logon ke jo samjho film stars hai, urban elites hai, unpe itne judgemental shayad hi honge. (If you were urban, elite, liberal, there are many who have two wives. I don’t wanna take names but for example we have film stars who are urban elites. We may not be that judgemental towards them).”

Those words then raised many eyebrows asking whether indeed these were references to people such as Salim Khan father of Salman Khan or Dharmendra?

The well-known screenwriter, Salim Khan, has openly been having romantic entanglements with both the beautiful Salma Khan and the lovely Helen; a fact that is well known and recognized in public circles. Just like Dharmendra, the legendary actor who has married Prakash Kaur not once but twice and still remains married to Hema Malini – a marriage that is also in the public domain. Although Ranvir did not mention their names, his words could easily be associated with them as they seem to draw links between their situations and those of Armaan and Kritika Malik. He made this statement while pointing out that regardless of its unconventional nature, there is need to respect personal relationships built on mutual understanding and consent.
