Since past few days in Bigg Boss 14 house, we are learning more about Haryana, like the language, foods, etc. In a recent Extra Masala clip, Sonali Phogat is seen talking about the usage of ghee in her house. Rubina Dilaik is all ears to her words.
The clip starts with Sonali Phogat telling Rubina Dilaik about the usage of ghee and milk in Haryana. She says they use ghee in almost every food. Whenever the guests visit, they are served ‘halwa’ most of the time, to which Rubina asks ‘aata ka halwa?’. Sonali says ‘aata or sooji’, mostly in the sweet dish they are used to cook ‘halwa’ or ‘churma’.
Rubina gets curious about ‘churma’ and asks her what is it. Sonali explains to her that in the past ‘churma’ was mostly served. She later explains Rubina its recipe, says ‘bura shakkar’ (crushed jaggery) is put in the ghee and then is served. Rubina says that this is served at her place too.
Sonali then says that a full ‘lota of ghee’ is placed near the guests for ‘mehmaan nawazi’. She added that when her father was at the age of Rahul Vaidya then he used to take ‘1-litre ghee’. Rahul Vaidya says earlier people used to take those amounts.
Rubina also reveals that she used to take 3-4litre of ‘ghee’ in a month. Sonali reveals that her grandparents use ghee in every dish. She also says that they don’t eat heavy meals, the meals are light but are cooked in ghee. They used to harvest the vegetables and cook the same directly from the fields. At last, Rubina says her family is also like that, they used to grow crops. Sonali adds that she had seen some of her posts in fields.
