Bigg Boss 14: Weekend Ka Vaar is all about resolving issues among the housemates and Salman putting every contestant to their places. In one such episode of Weekend Ka Vaar, Salman Khan opened up on his thoughts about ‘nepotism’ to Rahul Vaidya.

Salman says, that if somebody’s parents have done something to support their children’s career, then how is it wrong?

He further gives the example of Sanjay Dutt, Sunny Deol and Rishi Kapoor who were launched by their fathers. However, they were still able to make a name for themselves in the industry and have survived all these years because of their talent and not because they have support of the family. He asks Rahul, ” Kya inne galat kiya ha?” ( Have they done anything wrong?)

He further gives the example of Ajay Devgn, whose father was an action director in the film industry and launched his son Ajay, as an actor. Salman then praises Ajay Devgn and says, “Ajay Devgn is today one of the greatest stars.”

Later, he talks about his colleagues, Shah Rukh Khan and Akshay Kumar, ‘Akki’ and said that they absolutely had to connections in the film industry and still they made it to the top. He says, “Mehnat ke dum par ye sab 20-30 saal tike hue hai they are here for such a long time because of their hard work.” ( They have survived in the industry for 20-30 years on the basis of their hard work)

The host also mentioned the name of Jackie Shroff, who was spotted by Dev Anand and only then was introduced to acting. Salman then shares an instance from his days of struggle saying that he was upset with his father for not introducing him to the directors and producers who always came to his place. To which Salman’s father answers that if they found potential in you, they would have definitely offered you work.

Rahul thanked Salman for his explanation and said that he understood what he wanted to say. Jaan got emotional too, when Salman clarified that he’s here for his mother.
