Bigg Boss 14 contestant Rubina Dilaik, in one of the Extra Masala episode shares how her mother and her grandmother used to walk all the way up to the hills, to collect grasses and twigs. They used to collect these things and carry it back home on their back.
She further shares that this was the longest time, after relocating to ‘Bombay’ that she has spent with her grandmother. Her grandmother shared that they didn’t have these expensive trekking boots or bags for going up the hill route, instead they used to walk in their ‘plastic chappals’ in search of grasses and twigs for cooking. And the work did not just end there, but after coming back home they also had to cook for the family and look after the kids.
She further adds that there were times when they were pregnant and still working. Rubina shares that even her mother has worked during her pregnancy. For an instance, when her mother was in the third trimester and the labor pain had already kicked in, she was still working. She worked in the morning, then by afternoon walked to their ancestral house where she gave birth to Rubina, after two hours of induced labor pain.
Kavita couldn’t believe her ears on what she heard and was amazed by the courage of these women.
