A mother brings a child to life and by the virtue of their mother tongue, the child takes the first words. So, there is no doubt that one has emotional connections attached to their language. Bigg Boss claims to be a show which has participants from varied backgrounds. So, when a contestant makes a statement that clearly hurts someone’s sentiments, the series takes a clear stand.

In a recent episode, Jaan Kumar Sanu was seen having an argument with Nikki Tamboli. There, he told her not to talk around him in Marathi as not being able to understand the language irks him. He said, “Marathi mei mat baat kar, mere saamne mat baat kar, meko chid hoti hai. Sunaauga teko, mere saamne Marathi mei mat baat kar. Dum hai toh Hindi mei bol warna mat baat kar, chid machti hai meko.” This ended up angering a lot of figures as well as the common public who took offense to the statement. The producers of the show then put up an apology on their official media handles.
