American pop music artist Taylor Swift is creating exceptional milestones even as the concert industry is suffering its worst inflation post-pandemic. According to various news reports, Swift, who is currently on her ‘The Eras Tour’ across North America and soon going international, is attracting earnings of over $13 million, roughly Rs 100 crore a night.

This mammoth intake has put Taylor Swift in the charts to deliver the highest-grossing tour in music history.

Taylor Swift enjoys a loyal and dedicated fan following who proudly call themselves ‘Swifties’ and are on the brink to gross over $1 billion, a number no artist has ever hit to date. According to Pollstar, which is an American music industry publication, Taylor Swift’s ‘Eras Tour’ in its 22 locations in the United States and global venues has brought in over $300 million. Taylor was scheduled to perform in 50 venues across US and than take the tour international. Pollstar has estimated that Eras Tour could top $1.3 billion.

The estimates comes after Beyonce’s Stockholm concert was credited to bring a dip in the inflation rate in the concert industry since number of fans across the world travelled to the Sweden city to attend the show pertaining to weak Swedish currency and low ticket prices.

As per a report by Bloomberg, average ticket price to Swift’s show is $254. Seven out of its 25 best selling acts of the first half of the year are charging more than $200 per night. The list includes names like Bruce Springsteen at $224, Phish at $206 and George Strait at $282. In the last five years only two acts Britney Spears and Celine Dion has topped the cap of $200. That years biggest performer Ed Sheeran charged $89 per night for the show.

Before 2018 almost every concert charged an average of $75 and $180 and coincidentally it was the last time Taylor Swift was on music tour promoting her album ‘Reputation’. Now there are more acts charging an average of over $200. The cost to attend a Swift concert has seen a rise of $134 but this rise hasn’t stopped 1.1 million people from buying the tickets.
