Ranveer Singh applauds PM Modi for reshaping Kashi’s landscape in 10 years

Actor Ranveer Singh recently visited Varanasi, along with Bollywood star Kriti Sanon and fashion icon Manish Malhotra, where he lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his remarkable efforts in rejuvenating the ancient city.

Ranveer and Kriti graced the ramp as showstoppers for Manish Malhotra’s fashion show, highlighting the rich cultural heritage and craftsmanship of Varanasi.

In an interview with ANI, Ranveer Singh expressed deep appreciation for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dedication to the development and preservation of Varanasi’s weaver community. He remarked, “We deeply appreciate everything Prime Minister Narendra Modi has done to protect and promote the weaver community. He has absolutely changed the face of Kashi in the last 10 years.”

The fashion show, themed ‘Banarasi Saree – A Tapestry of Indian Culture and Craftsmen,’ provided a platform to showcase the exquisite craftsmanship of Varanasi’s weavers. Ranveer Singh, reflecting on the experience of ramp-walking along the banks of River Ganga, emphasized the significance of the event and the beauty of Indian heritage, stating, “The event was amazing. The experience of ramp-walking on the banks of River Ganga felt a million times better than walking at Mumbai’s 5-star banquets.”

Encouraging the youth to embrace their cultural heritage while embracing modern trends, Ranveer urged, “It is very important to take pride in the rich cultural heritage of our country. Do not lose sight of your responsibility. You are the future of Bharat. Take cognisance of your responsibility…go out and vote.”

Both Ranveer Singh and Kriti Sanon showcased Indian craftsmanship through their traditional attires, symbolizing the beauty and uniqueness of the Banarasi saree. Kriti highlighted the significance of handwoven sarees, emphasizing the meticulous craftsmanship involved in creating each piece. She praised Varanasi as a shining example of progress while preserving its heritage.

Manish Malhotra’s fashion show, held as part of a two-day event organized by the Indian Minorities Foundation, aimed to promote the handicrafts and handlooms of Varanasi. The event, which took place at the Namo Ghat, celebrated the rich cultural tapestry of Varanasi and showcased the city’s timeless charm to the world.
