Actor Randeep Hooda took to social media recently to extend his gratitude to “unknown men” following the news of Amir Sarfaraz’s demise. Sarfaraz, an underworld don implicated in the murder of Sarabjit Singh in 2013, was reportedly killed by unidentified motorcycle-borne assailants in Lahore, Pakistan.
In a tweet, Hooda reposted a message from India Today, expressing his sentiments. He wrote, “Karma… Thank you Unknown Men. Remembering my Sister Dalbir Kaur and sending love to Swapandeep and Poonam, today some justice to Martyr Sarabjit Singh has been served.”
It’s worth noting that Randeep Hooda essayed the role of Sarabjit Singh in the 2016 film titled ‘Sarabjit’, alongside Aishwarya Rai Bachchan portraying the character of his sister Dalbir Kaur.
Amir Sarfaraz, also known as Tamba, was a notorious underworld figure in Pakistan. He fell victim to a targeted attack by motorcycle-borne assailants at his residence in Lahore’s Islampura area around 1:30 pm on Sunday, succumbing to his injuries thereafter.
Sarabjit Singh, a native of Punjab, was handed a death sentence on charges of espionage and alleged involvement in bomb blasts that claimed the lives of numerous Pakistani citizens in the Punjab province back in 1990—a claim vehemently contested by his family and Indian authorities.
According to Sarabjit Singh’s family, he inadvertently crossed the border into Pakistan while tending to his farm.
Reacting to the news of Amir Sarfaraz’s demise, Sarabjit Singh’s daughter Swapandeep initially expressed a sense of satisfaction but soon realized that this event did not equate to justice. In an exclusive interview with India Today TV, Swapandeep emphasized the family’s desire for a fair trial to uncover the circumstances surrounding Sarabjit Singh’s death and to identify those responsible.
