India’s upcoming mythological epic Ramayana is once again making headlines, this time for a reported business development that could potentially rewrite industry records. According to reports by Cinehub, producer Namit Malhotra is said to be seeking around ₹450 crore for the Hindi distribution rights of the much-awaited film. If the deal materializes at the reported figure, it could become one of the biggest distribution agreements in Indian cinema history.

Reports suggest that major production and distribution players, including Dharma Productions, are among those being approached regarding the rights, while AA Films is also reportedly in contention for the Hindi distribution deal. However, no official confirmation has been issued regarding the final agreement or negotiations.

The reported number has grabbed attention because of the scale involved. Industry discussions online have pointed out that previous major deals, including those linked to large-scale commercial projects, operated at significantly lower figures. If accepted, the proposed amount would set a new benchmark for Hindi film distribution and underline the enormous expectations surrounding Ramayana.

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra, Ramayana is among the most anticipated Indian projects currently in development. The film reportedly stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash in the role of Ravana. Owing to its ambitious scale, visual effects and mythological subject matter, the project has generated immense curiosity since its announcement.

Social media reactions to the latest reports have been mixed, with some calling the numbers “unprecedented” while others have urged caution until an official announcement is made.

At present, the reported ₹450 crore figure remains based on industry buzz and online reports, and audiences are awaiting formal confirmation from the makers.
