Netflix’s latest romantic comedy The Wrong Paris flips the script on love, ambition, and location mishaps, with Miranda Cosgrove leading the way.

The film follows Dawn (Cosgrove), a small-town Texan with big artistic dreams. After being accepted into an art school in Paris, she’s thrilled — until the harsh reality of costs sets in. To make her dream feasible, Dawn joins The Honeypot, a dating reality show supposedly set in the City of Lights. But when she arrives, there’s a twist: instead of France, the contestants find themselves in Paris, Texas.

Thrown into the mix is Trey (Pierson Fodé), a charming cowboy bachelor, who becomes the center of attention for the contestants. While Dawn plans to get eliminated quickly to secure her stipend for art school, her growing chemistry with Trey threatens to derail her Parisian plans.

The film also stars Yvonne Orji as Rachel, a producer on The Honeypot, Frances Fisher as Dawn’s grandmother Birdie, Emilija Baranac as Dawn’s sister, and a colorful lineup of fellow contestants played by Madison Pettis, Madeleine Arthur, Christin Park, and Hannah Stocking.

Directed by Janeen Damian (Irish Wish, Falling for Christmas) and written by Nicole Henrich, the film blends physical comedy with heartfelt romance. Cosgrove, speaking about the project, said: “I’m a huge rom-com lover, and one of the reasons I enjoy this genre so much is because of the aspect of escapism. I hope people have fun seeing all the crazy and ridiculous physical comedy, as well as the more heartfelt moments.”

The Wrong Paris premieres worldwide on Netflix on September 12, 2025, bringing a light-hearted twist to the rom-com genre, where dreams of Paris come with cowboy hats and unexpected love stories.
