The premiere of season two of The Great Indian Kapil Show on September 22 placed it at the eighth spot on Netflix’s Global Top 10 list, with only 1.2 million views compared to the 2.4 million that the premiere of season one drew in.
The Great Indian Kapil Show came back for a new season recently. While the first season kicked off with Ranbir Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor and Riddhima Kapoor Sahni as its main guests, its second season’s premiere included Alia Bhatt along with Karan Johar, Vedang Raina, and Vasan Bala as guests. They were advertising their coming release, Jigra. Still, it looks like the episode wasn’t as effective as the one starring Ranbir last season.
According to the Global Top 10 roster from Netflix, The Great Indian Kapil Show opened on September 22 and landed in the number eight position on the non-English TV list for last week, with support from 1.2 million views and 1.4 million viewing hours. This represents fifty percent of the response the episode with Ranbir Kapoor garnered at its launch. With a viewership of 2.4 million, that episode launched in the top three rankings.
