Netflix and Amazon Prime Video amongst other OTT platforms have seen a sharp rise in debuts by Bollywood celebrities.
Reportedly, Sonam Kapoor too has jumped on the bandwagon of digital media and is set to make her debut soon.
As per reports, Sonam’s movie was eyeing for a theatrical release, however, due to the current situation of the ravaging pandemic, Sonam’s movie ‘Blind’ will see an OTT release.
Talking about the release, a source says, “Sujoy had thought of waiting it out for a theatrical release. He is very happy with how the film has turned out. But given the third wave scare, and another shutdown of theatres, he is being advised to not hold onto the movie anymore. He is now talking to three digital streaming companies and he will select the best deal.”
Another source furnished the media with more information, he said, “Blind will be Sonam’s debut on OTT. It is only a logical move to opt for the web because theirs is a small film and they will easily recover the money. Theatrical business is even dicier at this point. So it’s a good call,”
The movie is said to be the Hindi remake of a Korean thriller movie.
