SonyLIV’s Scam series has made a name for itself by attracting and keeping viewers interested. Following the huge success of Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story, the second season, Scam 2003: The Telgi Story, became extremely popular. The wait for the third season is finally over, as the franchise’s creators have officially announced the much anticipated third season.

The latest edition in the popular franchise will go deeper into one of India’s most notorious financial scandals, Scam 2010: The Subrata Roy Saga. The show is directed by Hansal Mehta and is based on the book ‘Sahara: The Untold Story by Tamal Bandyopadhyay’. It is developed by Applause Entertainment in collaboration with Studio Next.

Unveiling the big announcement, Hansal Mehta took to his official social media account and shared the teaser of the show and captioned it – “Sc3m is back!🔥💰 Scam 2010: The Subrata Roy Saga, coming soon on @sonylivindia”

 

Scam 2010 will tell the narrative of Subrata Roy, a maverick businessman who went from dust to diamonds. He was detained in 2014 after being suspected of a number of scandals, including chit-fund scams involving bogus investors in the early 2000s.

With about Rs 25,000 crore in unclaimed monies kept by government agencies, the Scam’s impacts can still be seen today.

Hansal Mehta, the franchise’s showrunner and director, stated, “Scam is not just a franchise for me. It is a chronicling of our times. I’m thrilled to collaborate again with Applause and Sony LIV to bring this larger-than-life story alive.”

After keeping viewers engaged with Harshad Mehta’s riveting representation and Abdul Karim Telgi’s vivid portrayal, the Scam franchise promises another exciting show bringing light on the infamous tales of financial fraud in India.
