Heeramandi is intended to depict a society in which courtesans were formerly queens. The first look at the series was released on Thursday, after months of expectation and hype.
Amid a power battle in Heeramandi, a young heir caught in the crossfire chooses love over succession, upsetting the established order. Set in pre-independence India amid a developing liberation movement, the final thread tying the art of tawaif (courtesans) is tested.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s 14-year passion project in conjunction with Netflix is about to be unveiled globally to audiences, hailed as the year’s grandest and most anticipated series.
Heeramandi promises to be a thrilling tale of love, power, revenge, and freedom. The series promises to be a profound celebration of art, culture, and beauty, which are all things Bhansali is known for.
Bhansali Productions’ series stars Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Sharmin Segal, Richa Chadha, and Sanjeeda Sheikh. Each of them will contribute to Heeramandi’s voyage by telling their own stories.
While the exact release date has not yet been confirmed, Heeramandi is expected to be available on OTT by the end of 2024.
