The Italian historical adventure series Sandokan (internationally known as Sandokan: The Pirate Prince), a contemporary retelling of Emilio Salgari’s classic novels about the fabled “Tiger of Malaysia,” will soon continue with Sandokan Season 2.
Season 1 was released on Rai 1 in Italy from December 1 to December 16, 2025. On January 19, 2026, it had its international release on Netflix, where it immediately became well-known as an eight-episode, high-profile, daring drama.
Sandokan Season 2 Release Date Speculation
Season 2 of the show has been formally renewed. Shortly after Season 1 premiered in Italy, the renewal was confirmed, and the producers said that plans for a follow-up were already in motion because of the positive audience reaction and outstanding performance.
Sandokan Season 2 Expected Cast
It is expected that the main cast from Season 1 will return, Alanah Bloor will be as Lady Marianna Guillonk, the “Pearl of Labuan”. Alessandro Preziosi as Yanez de Gomera, Sandokan’s closest ally. Ed Westwick as the vicious British foe Lord James Brooke. John Hannah, Owen Teale, Madeleine Price, Matt McCooey, Gilberto Gaiozzi, and other supporting characters from Season 1 are likely to return.
In order to broaden the story’s political and adventurous scope, new characters are expected to be introduced in Season 2. Although fans are expecting about potential cameos, such as Kabir Bedi from the classic 1970s rendition, but no such appearances have been verified.
Sandokan Season 2 Plot
The first season chronicled Sandokan’s ascent to prominence as a pirate commander in Southeast Asia. As he struggle during the 19th century, against British colonial forces and his forbidden love affair with Lady Marianna.
Salgari’s books will still be adapted in Season 2, which will probably include the increased conflict with colonial powers, increased pirate coalitions and new adversaries, profound emotional and political difficulties for Sandokan and the relationship issues between Sandokan and Marianna
In order to further advance Sandokan’s legend, producers have hinted that Season 2 will have greater stakes, more expansive world-building, and more epic storytelling.
