Amazon miniTV, Amazon’s free video streaming service, has launched the third season of Playground, India’s first-of-its-kind gaming reality show, in collaboration with Rusk Media. After identifying YouTube sensation CarryMinati as the season’s first mentor, the service has now announced India’s most well-known player, Mortal, as the second leader. Mortal will lead and crusade his squad, the OP Unicorns, through gaming-related chores and challenges over the next three weeks, keeping fans on the edge of their seats.
The third season of Playground will feature sixteen micro-influencers competing in 30 days of difficult challenges, led by four recognised mentors. Players will compete for the esteemed title of “Ultimate Gaming Entertainer,” based on their personal accomplishments.
Throughout each round, the participants will be tested on a variety of factors, including their ability to think on the fly and their strategic vision to fend off challenges and emerge victorious over their opponents. Playground S3 promises unrivalled entertainment and will keep spectators engaged as the experience unfolds before them. As players compete for big prizes, viewers may vote for their favourite contestants directly using the Amazon miniTV app.
Speaking about the third season of Playground, Mortal said, “I am delighted to return to Playground and take on a mentoring role for its third edition. The series has grown to be pivotal in promoting the gaming culture of India and acquainting audiences with the potential career trajectory of this industry. The new season takes a more individualistic route while challenging players on their all-round skill set. Its a great way to bring esports and gaming to the forefront while nurturing budding gamers into rising champions. I am certain viewers will be captivated through the next few weeks as the tournament unfolds upon them.”
Playground S3 will be filled with big gaming challenges and explosive face-offs as the search for the next Ultimate Gaming Entertainer begins. The reality programme will be available for free on Amazon miniTV through Amazon’s shopping app, Fire TV, and the Google Play Store.
