The Straw Hat Pirates have successfully sailed into the Grand Line for Season 2, but their greatest test is already on the horizon. Following the massive success of the second season, Netflix and Eiichiro Oda’s team officially announced that the live-action phenomenon is locked in for another voyage.

Here is everything confirmed for One Piece Season 3.

One Piece Season 3: Release Window

Fans won’t have to suffer another massive 30-month drought. On April 7, 2026, the official Eiichiro Oda staff account dropped the animated logo for the third season, confirming a much tighter production cycle.

  • Official Status: Renewed & Formally Titled.

  • Official Subtitle: ONE PIECE: The Battle of Alabasta.

  • Confirmed Release Window: 2027.

  • The Timeline: Production for Season 3 quietly began back in November 2025 in South Africa, filming back-to-back alongside the tail-end of Season 2. Industry insiders expect the season to drop in the mid-to-late half of 2027, representing a vastly improved 16-to-18-month gap between seasons.

One Piece Season 3: Cast News

The core crew is sticking together, but the desert kingdom of Alabasta brings with it one of the most celebrated casting rosters in the show’s history.

The Returning Crew & Allies

  • The Straw Hats: Iñaki Godoy (Luffy), Mackenyu (Zoro), Emily Rudd (Nami), Taz Skylar (Sanji), and Jacob Gibson (Usopp) return, alongside their newly recruited doctor, Tony Tony Chopper (voiced by Mikaela Hoover).

  • The Royals: Charithra Chandran returns as Miss Wednesday—now openly operating as Princess Nefertari Vivi—alongside Sendhil Ramamurthy as her father, King Nefertari Cobra.

  • The Marines: Callum Kerr (Smoker) and Julia Rehwald (Tashigi) will continue tracking Luffy’s crew into the desert heat.

The New Faces & Baroque Works Villains

  • Xolo Maridueña as Portgas D. Ace: In a massive piece of fan-favorite casting, the Cobra Kai alum joins the crew as Luffy’s adoptive older brother. Ace is the powerful, fire-wielding 2nd Division commander of the Whitebeard Pirates.

  • Joe Manganiello as Sir Crocodile (Mr. 0): The terrifying leader of the criminal syndicate Baroque Works.

  • Lera Abova as Nico Robin (Miss All Sunday): Crocodile’s enigmatic right-hand woman.

  • Cole Escola as Mr. 2 Bon Clay: The flamboyant, shape-shifting Baroque Works martial artist who can morph into anyone they touch.

  • Awdo Awdo as Mr. 1 (Daz Bonez): The highest-ranking male officer, capable of turning his body into steel blades.

  • Daisy Head as Miss Doublefinger: A high-ranking officer who can generate lethal spikes from her body.

One Piece Season 3: Plot Details

Showrunners Ian Stokes and Joseph E. Tracz are dedicating the entirety of Season 3 to the culmination of the Alabasta Saga.

Key narrative arcs for Season 3 include:

  • The Civil War: The central focus of the season is preventing a devastating, orchestrated civil war from completely tearing Vivi’s homeland apart. The Straw Hats must infiltrate a country fractured by drought and political manipulation.

  • Luffy vs. Crocodile: For the first time, Luffy will square off against a Logia-type Devil Fruit user. Sir Crocodile’s sand-manipulation abilities make him entirely impervious to normal physical attacks, forcing Luffy to think creatively—and brutally—to survive.

  • The Officer Showdowns: With the Baroque Works syndicate fully exposed, the rest of the Straw Hats will be pushed to their limits in a series of iconic 1-v-1 matchups across the capital city of Alubarna (including Zoro taking on the steel-skinned Mr. 1).

  • The Brotherly Reunion: The introduction of Ace will pull back the curtain on Luffy’s childhood before sending the fiery pirate on his own dangerous, intersecting mission across the Grand Line.

You can stream the entirety of Seasons 1 and 2 of the live-action One Piece on Netflix. (Note: Anime fans can also look forward to WIT Studio’s separate animated remake, The One Piece, which is locked to debut on Netflix in February 2027 to bridge the live-action wait).
