‘Masaba Masaba’ trailer was released today by Netflix India on its official YouTube account. Masaba Gupta and her mother Neena Gupta play a fictionalized version of themselves in the movie.
The upcoming show will debut on 28th August. It serves as a semi-fictionalized story of the celebrity fashion designer Masaba Gupta.
The trailer opens up with the designer Masaba who runs her own clothing company, has a complicated relationship with her mother Neena Gupta. We are also introduced to the problems Masaba has to handle balancing her personal and professional life. Masaba also tackles her work crisis, having some crucial discussions with her partner Satyadeep Misra and she confronts a salesman who is selling her copy of cheap designs.
The movie also has a cameo of Kiara Advani and Farah Khan from the Bollywood industry.
Speaking about the series Masaba told Hindustan Times, “Mom and I are playing fictionalized characters of ourselves in Masaba Masaba. The series is a slice of our life and reliving key moments even though fictionalized, took me down memory lane. Sharing screen space with mom was quite an experience”.
The show also features Neil Bhoopalam, Suchitra Pillai, Tanuj Virwani, Gajraj Rao and Shibani Dandekar. Written and directed by Sonam Nair, produced by Viniyard Films.
