On Thursday Netflix released the trailer of Raat Akeli Hai, an upcoming murder mystery starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Radhika Apte. The film marks the directorial debut of casting director Honey Trehan.
Nawaz is seen playing the role of a policeman named Jatil Yadav, who is assigned to investigate the murder of a wealthy landlord. In the trailer we can see as soon as Nawaz steps in the house there is something fishy about this family and each member of the family is hiding something.
Later in the trailer, we see Nawaz solving all the broken pieces, he starts facing obstacles from a politician and his boss. Even his partner begins to wonder why Jatil is so invested in the case, which seems open and shut on the surface. In the parallel we also see a love story sparks between Jatil and a mysterious woman, played by Radhika Apte.
Raat Akeli Hai is produced by Ronnie Screwvala. Nawaz and Radhika are seen together after Sacred Games. Radhika has also appeared in the streaming service’s Lust Stories and Ghoul.
The movie also features Shweta Tripathi, Ila Arun, Shivani Raghuvanshi, Aditya Srivastava, Tigmanshu Dhulia and others, the film is all set to get released on July 31. Netflix India recently released the Anushka Sharma-produced fantasy drama Bulbbul, director Anurag Kashyap’s Choked, and in August will release Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl, starring Janhvi Kapoor. Nawaz last appeared in the long-delayed Zee5 film Ghoomketu.
