A continuation of The Boys, Gen V is a satirical superhero series available on Amazon Prime Video. It centers on young adult “supes” (superheroes) at Godolkin University, the only college in America dedicated to teaching supes. There, they battle hard for contracts, top rankings, celebrity, and a chance to join Vought International’s elite team, The Seven.
Freshman Marie Moreau, who has the ability to manipulate blood, discovers the university’s horrible experiments (such as “The Woods”) in Season 1 (2023). Season 2 (2025) expands on those events by raising the stakes and making connections with The Boys universe. R-rated, irreverent, and highly regarded (97% on Rotten Tomatoes for S1 and 91% for S2), it explores the kind of heroes these adolescent superheroes genuinely aspire to be.
Is Gen V Season 3 Happening?
As of January 2026, Amazon Prime Video had not formally renewed Gen V for a third season. Additionally, the streaming service has not terminated the show, so its future is currently uncertain.
Before committing to another season, Amazon seems to be assessing the show’s long-term success and viewing figures. Season 2 concluded in October 2025. Although the creators have indicated that a creative continuation is planned, no approval has been given.
Given the two-year intervals between seasons and the timing of other The Boys universe initiatives, it seems unlikely that Season 3 will release before 2027, if Prime Video does proceed.
Gen V Season 3 Expected Cast
Season 3’s cast has not yet been formally confirmed. If the show is revived, it is expected that the core cast from previous seasons will continue their roles as important surviving characters from Season 2.
The Boys’ creator, Eric Kripke, has openly revealed that the group is excited to move forward and has even planned ideas for a possible third season. Similar views have been expressed by showrunner Michele Fazekas, who emphasized that Amazon Prime Video had the last say.
The way that Season 3 ties into the overall plot of The Boys will probably determine any casting changes.
Gen V Season 3 Potential Plot
Significant events that closely relate to The Boys Season 5, which is expected to wrap up the main series in 2026, concluded Season 2. As a result, a possible third season of Gen V would probably examine the fallout from such incidents, potentially placing the program in a post-Boys universe.
If Gen V is intended to continue the universe after the flagship series concludes, storylines may change to focus on the next generation of Supes navigating a collapsing or reformed Vought system. However, until an official renewal is declared, all plot lines remain hypothetical.
