It’s only been a few hours since the highly anticipated sixth season of Black Mirror launched on Netflix, but fans of Charlie Brooker’s British anthology television series are already bombarding social media with questions about whether or not there will be another season.
The network has not yet announced the seventh season. As previously said, the first season released all new episodes on Netflix a few hours ago, making it ridiculous to request any information on a prospective second-season renewal. Any large network would be foolish to make such a substantial message in such a short period of time. So, fans should wait for the network to acknowledge the possibility of a Black Mirror Season 7 renewal.
Even though the current situation of Season 7 is irrelevant, all indications lead to a yes! However, we may have to wait a bit! Keep in mind that the show’s creator, Charlie Brooker, has previously hinted that Season 6 may not be the final season. “I’m not sure what the future holds for the show,” he remarked. This implies that there are still plans for the show’s eventual return at some point in the future.
It’s far too early to speculate on plotlines because the show’s writers haven’t even acknowledged the seventh season, thus receiving any definite plot elements is far too early. But, if we must speculate, the new season will undoubtedly stick to the premise, which is based on The Twilight Zone and uses technology to comment on contemporary social issues, and features individual episodes that explore a variety of genres, but the majority are set in near-future dystopias with sci-fi technology—a type of speculative fiction.
