AMC+’s Interview with the Vampire Season 3 is one of the most highly anticipated series in the network’s history – continuing AMC+’s bold and stylish reimagining of Anne Rice’s classic novella series, the Vampire Chronicles. While the end of the first two seasons left the audience and the characters with intense emotional turmoil, season three, which is entitled The Vampire Lestat, will focus on Lestat de Lioncourt, a character whose talents will be shared with the world through an extravagant global tour. There will be more gothic romance, explosion-filled drama, rock star energy, and chilling flashbacks.

Interview with the Vampire Season 3 Release Details

AMC has confirmed Season 3 of Interview with the Vampire, titled Anne Rice’s The Vampire Lestat, will premiere in Summer 2026, both on the network and via AMC+. There is no exact premiere date yet, but updates have consistently stated Summer 2026 since the series launched.

Filming for S3 was completed in late 2025, and teaser content released early in 2026 indicates that an S3 rollout is mid-to-late 2026 as opposed to early in the year. Some online speculation of an earlier release (e.g., April) has not been confirmed by AMC. As of now, only Summer 2026 has been confirmed.

AMC will continue its dual release strategy that has been used for prior seasons – episodes will air on television and via AMC+. More information regarding the number of episodes and exact premiere dates will likely be announced closer to the premiere date.

Interview with the Vampire Season 3 Cast Updates

The change in narrative and branding toward placing Lestat de Lioncourt at the forefront of the story occurs in Season 3, and that shift is reflected in the cast of characters.

Once again, Sam Reid will be back as Lestat de Lioncourt—the central character of the series from this point forward; spirits seem bright for Jacob Anderson returning as Louis de Pointe du Lac, having seen suggestions via AMC teasers that he will continue to play an important role, including a possible return to his previous relationship with Lestat; also returning for Season 3 is Eric Bogosian, as Daniel Molloy, for consistency with the framing device introduced in the early seasons of the show.

The official announcement of several new cast members occurred at events in which they were introduced, e.g., during New York Comic Con 2025, Jennifer Ehle joins the series as Gabrielle, Lestat’s mother and major character from Anne Rice’s source material; Sheila Atim was cast as Akasha, another major character in The Vampire Chronicles mythology; and significant additions also include Noah Reid, Ryan Kattner, Seamus Patterson, and Sarah Swire, although the character details for several of these roles are being kept under wraps.

The casting decisions point to a further exploration of Lestat’s backstory and additional connections to other vampires in his Campbell family and follow the narrative of the second novel in Anne Rice’s series.

Interview with the Vampire Season 3 Potential Plot

Though AMC has not officially released a complete synopsis, they have provided enough information to clarify what to expect with the story arc in season three. In this installment, based heavily on the novel “The Vampire Lestat” by Anne Rice, we will have the opportunity to view events from Lestat’s perspective after everything that happened in the first two seasons has played out.

Part of the storyline will be Lestat’s reaction to being written about in the popular novel “Interview With a Vampire”, which, in this imagined world, is known as a “trashy best seller” written by Daniel Molloy. Lestat will attempt to regain control over his own narrative and public persona through self-reinvention as a contemporary rock star with a band going on a worldwide tour.

It is expected that there will be intercutting of the present-day existence of celebrity Lestat with extensive flashbacks about Lestat’s life in France during the 18th century, his family life, and the events that brought him to his transformation into a vampire. Tensions between Lestat and Louis will reportedly also be a continuing theme of the season, with AMC hinting at the possibility for extremely emotional confrontation between the individuals and possible reconciliation.

AMC promotional material has also suggested that there will be supernatural consequences based upon Lestat’s actions that will cause him to be haunted by figures present in his past and larger mythical changes that tie into the overall vampire mythology. One way AMC is highlighting this event is by releasing an in-world track titled “Long Face”.
