The much-awaited, True Detective: Night Country’s trailer has been released on the 12th of April. This will be the 4th instalment of HBO’s crime thriller series starring Jodie Foster and Kali Reis. It has been scheduled to premier this year on HBO Max.
Every upcoming season of True Detective brings a new detective or two and they are given a unique case to solve. This year it introduces us to Detective Liz Danvers and Detective Evangeline Navarro. The trailer opens up with the disappearance of 8 men that took place in Alaska. Danvers denies their absence and treats this matter as a murder case. Although the people there are not happy with her speculations and object to her investigation.
The series was shot in Ice Land. The unavailability of sunlight in the show will play a major role in setting the spirit of investigation and will bring out a sense of amazement within the audience.
The new season’s synopsis goes as follows,”When the long winter night falls in Ennis, Alaska, the eight men who operate the Tsalal Arctic Research Station vanish without a trace. To solve the case, Detectives Liz Danvers (Foster) and Evangeline Navarro (Reis) will have to confront the darkness they carry in themselves, and dig into the haunted truths that lie buried under the eternal ice.”
True Detective: Night Country is directed by Nic Pizzolatto. The cast also includes Fiona Shaw, Finn Bennett, Aka Niviana, Anna Lambe, Isabella Star Lablanc, Christopher Eccleston and John Hawkes.
The first season of True Detective, which was released in 2014 starred Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson. The second season included Taylor Kitsch, Rachel McAdams and Vince Vaughn in 2015. In 2019, the third season starred Mahershala Ali.
