Harsal Mehta is back with ‘Scoop’; Releasing this June on Netflix – Check out all details

After Scam 1992, Hansal Mehta is back with another exciting series Scoop on Netflix.

The book “Behind the Bars in Byculla: My Days in Prison” by Jigna Vora, served as the inspiration for Hansal and Mrunmayee Lagoo Waikul to write Scoop. Hansal is best known for helming blockbusters like Scam 1992, Shahid, and Aligarh, said he felt “compelled” to adapt Vora’s book for the big screen after reading it.

Sanjay Routray, producer at Matchbox Shots, said that after reading the book for the first time, he and his team came to the conclusion that the courageous story of grit and it deserved to be known by all. The series will be available on Netflix on 2 June, according to the company’s announcement.

Fans of mysteries and thrillers will enjoy the show because it includes all the components of such genres. As per the plot summary, the drama will centre on a journalist who is charged with killing Jaideb Sen, a fellow journalist. Her entire world crumbles when she discovers she is in prison.

Some of the most ruthless offenders, including sharpshooters, bookies, and even underworld don Chhota Rajan, reside in the cell where she is currently residing. How she handles the difficulties and how the truth is covertly suppressed will be the main themes of the narrative.

The play is directed by Hansal Mehta, and it was created by Sanjay Routray and Sarita Patil. The main actors are Mohd Zeeshan Ayyub and Karishma Tanna. In addition to them, other cast members include Harman Baweja, Deven Bhojani, Tannishtha Chatterjee, Tejasvini Kolhapure, Shikha Talsania, Tanmay Dhanania, and Inayat Sood.
