Emily in Paris is one of the most anticipated new series on global OTT platforms. Featuring the escapades of an American marketing executive living in the City of Light, it has gained viewers with its stylish fashion sense, love stories, and cultural disconnection. Fans are excitedly counting down the days to Season Six, which will present even greater episodes of chic drama, affection, developing relationships, and whimsical charm through Emily’s happiness-filled eyes after the conclusion of Season Five in late 2025 and all of the romantic twists and cliffhangers that will occur between the two seasons.
Emily in Paris Season 6 Release Date Speculations
Netflix has announced that they have renewed the series “Emily in Paris” for a sixth season. The announcement came on January 5, 2026, just a few weeks after the fifth season debuted on December 18, 2025. The fifth season had strong viewership numbers, with approximately 26.8 million views worldwide within 11 days of the season premiere, making it one of Netflix’s most popular titles in many different markets.
As of this time, Netflix has not released an exact date for when Season 6 will premiere, only stating that it will premiere sometime in 2026. Due to the way seasons of this series have usually released (a year or so between seasons) and when reports from the industry anticipate filming will commence (Q2 2026) we believe the most likely time frame for the sixth season to be available on Netflix is late 2026. As past seasons have generally been released at year-end, a September to December release is possible; however, if there are long production or post-production timelines, it’s possible we may not see the sixth season until early 2027. Netflix has already indicated where on their list of programming for 2026 that “Emily in Paris” will fall and more specific information about Season 6 will be released once filming commences.
Emily in Paris Season 6 Expected Cast
It’s anticipated that the main cast will reprise their roles in Season 6 of the television series, with Lily Collins continuing in her role as Emily Cooper, Lucas Bravo returning as Gabriel, Ashley Park as Mindy, and Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu playing Sylvie. Additional cast members who will likely be returning include Lucien Laviscount in his role as Alfie, Samuel Arnold as Julien, Bruno Gouery as Luc, William Abadie as Antoine, and Paul Forman as Nicolas.
While Minnie Driver has not yet been confirmed by Netflix for her participation as Princess Jane, cast member Marcello Muratori (Eugenio Franceschini) is not expected to be featured prominently after breaking up with Emily in Season 5’s final episode. The creator and executive producer of the series, Darren Star, will continue running the project.
Emily in Paris Season 6 Potential Plot
The conclusion of season 5 finds Emily back in Paris from her time spent in Rome and newly single due to her breakup with Marcello. The finale also establishes a new emotional avenue, with Gabriel sending Emily a postcard asking her to join him working as a private yacht chef in Greece. According to Darren Star, this moment indicates that Emily and Gabriel will continue to be a part of each other’s lives, with their relationship likely evolving slowly rather than rushing back into romance.
Season 6 will continue to be focused on Emily as she attempts to re-establish herself at Agence Grateau while navigating professional hardships, friendships, and unresolved romantic tension with Gabriel. Mindy’s story arc will also continue to develop based on events that occur after she agrees to marry in Venice. Paris will be the story’s main geographic base, but there may be an inclusion of additional locations, such as a possible setting in Greece, as the series continues to embrace its trademark combination of fashion, love, career drama, and cultural juxtaposition.
