The highly awaited Common Side Effects is an adult animation series coming to VOD platforms and offers a comical, sarcastic view of conspiracy theories surrounding big pharmaceutical companies and mysterious healing mushrooms through the two quirky main characters, Marshall and Frances. Fans are highly waiting for Season 2 as it is expected to be more thrilling twists and turns, with mind-bending experiences, laughter, corporate greed, and the absurdity of everyday life.
Common Side Effects Season 2 Release Date Speculations
“Adult Swim has confirmed the renewal of Common Side Effects for its second season (following the end of the first season in March 2025) but hasn’t yet provided an exact launch date. Season 2 is currently “in production,” which was recently updated sometime between March 30 and April 10, meaning that development for the second season has begun.
Using the existing timeline of the first season, timing can be estimated. Given that it took 14-18 months from the development of the first season to a release date of Early – February 2025, and now that the second season was sustained momentum design started up around May of 2025. While the current estimates for Season 2 place it in a late 2026 release window. Joe Bennett, Co-Creator of the show, stated to press on September 30, 2025, that his production team is working heavily and are focused on getting a release date in late 2026. Additionally, following the history of Adult Swim’s scheduling practices, which typically provide for post-Labor Day premieres of returning animated originals, Fall of 2026 appears to be highly likely. A more accurate date will be provided once production is complete.”
Common Side Effects Season 2 Expected Cast
While there hasn’t been any in-depth information released from Adult Swim regarding the second season’s cast, it is assumed all of the original voice actors will reprise their roles unless some sort of announcement is made to the contrary. Joe Bennett & Steve Hely created this animated series alongside executive producers Mike Judge & Greg Daniels, both of whom had an established creative partnership prior to this project. The storyline of the show follows a threaded story arc with numerous characters contributing to the plot lines; therefore, significant changes in the cast are unlikely at this time.
