The popular drama series Sex/ Life, starring Sarah Shahi, will return for a second season on March 2 according to a Netflix announcement. In June 2021, the first season was released to great success. The memoir 44 Chapters About 4 Men by B.B. Easton served as the basis for Stacy Rukeyser’s Sex/Life. The programme centres on Billie Connelly (Shahi), a mother and wife who is dissatisfied with her routine life and husband Cooper (Mike Vogel) and begins seeing Brad, an ex-boyfriend (Adam Demos).
The cast also features Jonathan Sadowski as Devon, Li Jun Li as Francesca, Vogel as Cooper, Demos as Brad, Margaret Odette as Sasha, and Shahi as Billie. Wallis Day, Darius Homayoun, Cleo Anthony, and Dylan Bruce are a few of the additional new cast members.
There were rumours of new characters joining the ensemble later, in March 2022. Wallis Day, who plays Kate Kane in season 2 of The CW’s Batwoman, has reportedly joined as a character named Gigi, though little is known about her other than that. Also joining the cast are Dylan Bruce from Orphan Black as Spencer, Cleo Anthony from She’s Gotta Have It as Kam, and Darius Homayoun as Majid from UnREAL. Craig Bierko from UnREAL will play Mick.
On September 27, 2021, Netflix announced that a sequel series would be produced. Stacy Rukeyer, the show’s creator and showrunner, said of the second season, “Sex/Life is a dream come true. To create a show about empowered female sexuality that has entranced so many millions of viewers is not only immensely fun but also incredibly gratifying.”
