Bridgerton, which debuted on Netflix, immediately became a sensation because to its captivating story and superb ensemble. Who wouldn’t want to see it? Fans have been impatiently waiting for season 3 of Bridgerton ever since season 2 of the show debuted on Netflix.
For those who are unaware, the Netflix original series Bridgerton was adapted by Shona Rhimes’ Shondaland Productions. It was based on a series of eight novels by Julia Quinn.
The Bridgerton family, which comprises of widowed matriarch Violet (Ruth Gemmell) and her eight children, and who are presently hunting for marriage suitors in Regency England’s aristocratic society, is the subject of the romance drama.
Bridgerton’s first season, which debuted on December 25, 2020, focused on Daphne, the first daughter’s (Phoebe Dynevor) potential suitors who eventually helped her establish relationships with Simon Basset, Duke of Hastings (Rege-Jean Page).
The second season is based on the second book in the book series, and it follows the relationship between Anthony, the oldest brother, and the innocent Kate Sharma, which will unavoidably bring to mind the Darcy and Lizzy love story cliche. Anthony is played by Jonathan Bailey.
As indicated before, Bridgerton premiered on Netflix on December 1, 2020, and the second season was ordered in January 2021. It’s interesting to note that before the second season of the show’s production has started, Netflix concurrently renewed it for a third and fourth season in April 2021 due to the exponential growth of its popularity. Given how uncommon they are these days, the streaming giant’s double renewal undoubtedly stunned its fans.
While making the renewal announcement for seasons 3 and 4, Netflix VP of Global TV Bela Bajaria said in a statement:
“Bridgerton swept us off our feet. The creative team, led by Shonda, knew the material and delivered a beautiful, emotional, romantic drama for our members. They have some exciting plans for the future, and we think audiences will continue to swoon for this show. We’re planning to be in the Bridgerton business for a long time to come.”
According to sources, the third season of Bridgerton will not be available in June 2023. However, the planned release has not been confirmed.
