The latest Weekend Ka Vaar episode of Bigg Boss 19 has ignited a storm of reactions across social media, with viewers accusing host Salman Khan of openly favouring singer Amaal Mallik. What was expected to be a clarifying segment turned into what many online users called a “whitewash” of Amaal’s behaviour.

During the episode, Salman criticised Abhishek Bajaj for allegedly provoking Amaal when he was unwell. He pointed out incidents where Abhishek sat on Amaal’s bed, banged utensils, and deliberately tried to trigger him. Salman further clarified that the viral “sursuri” comment was directed at Abhishek and not at Ashnoor Kaur, as previously assumed. However, rather than holding both contestants accountable, Salman appeared to defend Amaal and even praised his calmness during the confrontation.

That approach has divided the audience. Fans took to social media accusing the host of bias and claiming he ignored Amaal’s alleged personal remarks about Abhishek’s father. One viewer wrote on X (formerly Twitter), “Salman Khan didn’t even watch all the episodes. Makers are clearly feeding him a script to protect Amaal Mallik.” Another added, “Every year he shields industry insiders. This time the bias was too obvious.”

Many long-time followers of the show claimed the format has lost its spark, with some dubbing the series the “Amaal Mallik Protection League.” While a few appreciated Salman for acknowledging Amaal’s mental-health struggles, the majority called the episode “unfair” and “one-sided.”

With the backlash growing, several users warned that repeated favouritism could hurt Bigg Boss 19’s TRPs and alienate the neutral audience that once made the show one of India’s biggest reality-TV draws.
