Internationally recognised Kamakhya Narayan Singh directorial Bhor was recently unveiled on MX Player. The thought provoking narrative and eye opening storyline is what grabbed attention globally and won critical acclaim from its viewers.
The narrative revolves around Budhni, a girl of the Musahar community in Bihar and her fight against all the odds for persuing her education followed by building a toilet for sanitization despite her marriage below the legal age.
The depicted story on lens speaks about sensitive issues of the country in a brilliant way. The making of such a master piece was no cake walk and required alot of detailing.
In order to capture the essence perfectly on camera, there were on-location workshops for two months. The talent also took up the extra mile by living with the local community and adapting their way of living. The accuracy of the looks was top notch as the costumes were exchanged with Mushars.
The film also speaks in volumes about women empowerment highlighting sanitation issues of rural area and simultaneously giving the viewers a different take on the caste system.

The film has received critical acclaim at more than thirty film festivals including ‘Cairo International Film Festival’, ‘International Film Festival of India’ (GOA), Indo – Berlin Film Week (Berlin), Melbourne India Film Festival, Australia, The Best Director award at Ottawa Indian Film Festival and two awards Caleidoscope Indian Film festival of Boston.
