American Born Chinese, a new action-packed Disney+ series based on Gene Luen Yang’s 2006 graphic novel of the same name, is going to have a significant “Everything Everywhere All at Once” reunion. Although the programme won’t premiere until later this year, we already know a tonne of fascinating things about it.

Destin Daniel Cretton will helm the action-comedy that Charles Yu and Kelvin Yu (Master of None) wrote (Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings). Lucy Liu (Shazam! Fury of the Gods) has further said that she will be taking on a directing role in the series in addition to Cretton.

Plot – American Born Chinese

Jin Wang, a Chinese-American youngster who fights with his identity in a largely white American culture, is the subject of the new American Born Chinese. As Jin learns to manage the complexity of his cultural heritage and the expectations of people around him, the show leads viewers on a journey of self-discovery. He is drawn into a conflict between Chinese mythology’s Gods when he meets Wei-Chen, a foreign exchange student.

The Monkey King is a figure who predominates among the Gods. The 16th-century book Journey to the West included the first appearance of this figure in Chinese mythology.
