Amazon has subtly announced the second season’s release date for The Wheel of Time.
According to a press statement from Amazon Studios, the first season of The Wheel of Time will be streamable on Amazon Freevee beginning on March 26. This will occur prior to its second season premiere this year on Prime Video.
This establishes that The Wheel of Time Season 2 will air on television in 2023 despite there being no official announcement to that effect. It is based on Robert Jordan’s trilogy of high fantasy novels of the same name, the final three of which were finished by Brandon Sanderson, made its Prime Video debut in November 2021 to generally positive reviews.
While Season 2’s new settings, characters, and ideas have been eagerly anticipated by fans, production on The Wheel of Time Season 3 has already been set to begin in April 2023. Josha Stradowski plays Rand al’Thor, Marcus Rutherford plays Perrin Aybara, Zo Robins portrays Nynaeve al’Meara, Madeleine Madden portrays Egwene al’Vere, Kae Alexander plays Min Farshaw, Hammed Animashaun plays Loial, Priyanka Bose plays Alanna Mosvani, Taylor Napier plays Maksim, and Jennifer Cheon Garcia plays Leane Sharif.
Marcus Rutherford, who plays Perrin Aybara on the show, has also talked about how the main characters change over Season 2 of The Wheel of Time.
The relationship between Aes Sedai Alanna Mosvani and her two Warders, Ihvon and Maksim, will be substantially explored in season two of The Wheel of Time, according to showrunner Rage Judkins.
The first season of The Wheel of Time is currently available on Prime Video.
