Indian actor Adarsh Gourav gets nominated in the lead actor category at British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) Awards 2021 for his performance in Ramin Bahrani’s The White Tiger.
The actor himself confirmed it by sharing a clip on his Instagram handle. He wrote, “Holy shit it’s really happening! Thank you Ramin for trusting me to play the character that has given me more than anything I’ve ever experienced. Congratulations to the team for two BAFTA nominations!! Best adapted screenplay and Leading actor. Congratulations to all the other nominees too!”
Meanwhile, Priyanka Chopra congratulated Adarsh Gourav and The White Tiger team for being nominated in BAFTA for first ever all Indian star cast film. Later she expressed her feeling on how proud she feels on being executive producer of the film.
“What a proud moment for Indian talent with 2 BAFTA nominations for an ALL INDIAN STAR CAST!! Ecstatic for you @_GouravAdarsh, you are so deserving of this recognition, and congratulations #RaminBahrani, so well deserved. I feel extremely proud to have been an executive producer on this movie! Let’s get it!!” wrote Priyanka.

For those who don’t know what “The White Tiger” is, it’s an adaptation of a bestseller book written by Aravind Adiga. The White Tiger’s visual form of the book was directed by Ramin Bahrani which got released on Netflix. The 2 hours OTT film is about Balram, a poor guy, who serves his masters with utmost respect and sincerity. The Film also stars Priyanka Chopra and Rajkummar Rao.
