The trailer of Sushmita Sen’s comeback web series Aarya released a few minutes back and going by the trailer, it seems Sushmita Sen is in full form and is set to set the screens on fire.
The trailer starts slowly with the typical happy family, but the sudden twist comes when the same child pulls out the gun probably at school bullies.
Next scene Sushmita is seen to be asking “Why is there a gun in the house?”
Apparently the husband of Sushmita is doing a business of illegal medicines and one of his partners backstabs him by dealing in heroin. From then we see a plethora of emotions flowing throughout the trailer. The acting of Sushmita Sen is gracious and the way she performs the character is mindblowing at least in the trailer.
The series is directed by Ram Madhavani, who had directed the critically acclaimed film Neerja and he has done his work in Aarya very craftily. The trailer doesn’t bore you, you can expect a high from the series. Twist and turns that will keep you intrigued, it wouldn’t be an exaggeration to state, the trailer feeds your hunger of a stylized, performance-oriented show.
In one of the last scenes, Sushmita can be seen saying that she will do anything to protect her family.
Having said that, the trailer gives out the basic idea of the storyline which is again something that shouldn’t be. Sushmita at the end becomes the gang-leader of sorts.
We’re looking forward to the voice we hear at the end of the trailer, “Child, your mother has become goon.” The mysterious voice makes me think of a powerful villain and we can’t wait for that to unfurl in the series.
All in all, the trailer could be perfect, if they hadn’t included the conclusion. Screenplay is taut, the acting is perfect. The music is enchanting and the direction is flawless.
