In March 2024, the 31-year-old singer of “Pillowtalk” announced his impending fourth studio album, ‘Room Under the Stairs’, on Instagram and showed its illustrated cover artwork, which includes a silhouette of his face and a blueprint of a house being built.

The record, which is set to be released on May 17 via Mercury Records, will be Malik’s debut with the label, which also represents Noah Kahan, Post Malone, and Lily Rose.

Zayn Malik’s new music is almost ready! The 31-year-old musician previewed his new single “Alienated,” which will be released on ‘X’ on April 12, ahead of his upcoming album, “Room Under the Stairs,” which will be released on May 17.

In a personal behind-the-scenes video, Zayn explains that he composed “Alienated” first, explaining,  “That kind of helped me mold and shape the sound even for like, the way I wanted to approach the sound of my whole voice and the sonic sound of everything else, like the guitars.”

Malik teased his first single release with a brief Instagram video. “I think the intention behind this album fully is for the listener to get more insight on me personally as a human being,” he said in the clip.

“There’s just me writing this. I didn’t want anyone else to be in between me and the music, and the music and the people listening to it,” he concluded.

At the end of the video, Malik crooned in what appeared to be a new song snippet, “If I told you I loved you, would you say that it’s f—ed up?”

Rolling Stone revealed last month that his new album will be co-produced by Dave Cobb, a country and rock producer who has worked with artists such as Chris Stapleton, Brandi Carlile, and Lady Gaga.

The album is set to release on May 17 this year.
