New-age Australian singer-lyricist Sebastian Rhodes has released a new hyper-pop song called Bubblegum. And it’s already a hit with many Indians who form a big chunk of his listener base.

So strong is his Indian fanfare, that Sebastian has been recently asked to perform at Asia’s largest college cultural festival Mood Indigo, hosted by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in Mumbai.

Like its name, Bubblegum is bubblegum pop to its core, hooking the listener from its very first verse. Its pleasantly sweet melody complements the playful lyrics, which take after early 2000’s pop music.

The track features hyper pop veteran AlexZone, who utilises harmonies and vocoders to give the production that ultra-cool dash of hyper pop flare.

As the story goes, Sebastian and AlexZone met up during the Coronavirus lockdown whilst attending online zoom parties. These online parties helped the pair feel a closer connection with people during these tough times.

That is exactly what they have striven to achieve with this track — a way for every listener to feel uplifted. And going by the fact that on an average, Bubblegum is being heard about four times per person each day on Spotify, they seem to have hit their target.

That said, Sebastian is not slowing down anytime soon! The young gun has new music releases planned for every month of 2020. Fingers crossed.
