Millions of Coldplay fans from India spent their Sunday waiting in virtual queue to book tickets for the band’s concert in Mumbai on January 18 and 19. After scores of fans were left without tickets, many of them took to unofficial platforms to get their tickets. This however prompted BookMyShow, the official ticketing platform, to issue a warning.

The official handles of BookMyShow and BookMyShow Live shared a joint post on Instagram handle with caption, “Protect Yourself from Ticket Scams! Don’t fall prey to unauthorized platforms selling fake tickets for Coldplay’s Music Of The Sphere World Tour 2025 in India!”

The text in the post stated that a certain unauthorized platforms are selling tickets to the concert, which are invalid. The post noted that “Ticket scalping” is illegal in India and is punishable by law.

Witnessing such craze among the Indian audience for the British Band, the organisers have announced a third performance by Coldplay on January 21, 2025.

Earlier, ahead of the tickets going live on BMS, the platform had crashed. And as a result of many fans being left without a ticket, a meme fest had triggered on the social media platforms.
