Could three Latina pop stars be working together on a major project? Christina Aguilera seems to allude to a possible collaboration with Selena Gomez and Karol G today (July 25).
On July 22, Gomez celebrated her 31st birthday with a spectacular bash. Aguilera and Karol G were two of the well-known attendees at the party. Xtina shared images of herself with Gomez and Karol G on her Instagram page. She captioned the picture, “Love these girls,” using a heart emoji.
Fans of Karol G and Aguilera are hoping that the singers’ chance encounter at Gomez’s birthday party would result in them all collaborating on music. “Collab is coming???” inquired one person to Xtina. She replied to the tweet with a lot of vibrant emojis.
Aguilera’s tweet that may be hinting at a collaboration with Gomez and Karol G is driving their fan bases wild. There’s hope she can do a Latina version of “Lady Marmalade” with the two women.
In their most recent musical phases, Aguilera and Gomez have both embraced their Latina heritages. Gomez released her first EP in Spanish, titled Revelación, in 2021. For the 2022 Grammy Awards’ Best Latin Pop Album, she received a nomination. Xtina released her second Latino album, Aguilera, last year. Earlier this year, she was also put forward for Best Latin Pop Album. With the release of her album Maana Será Bonito, Karol G has the globe by storm. She made history by becoming the first woman to have a wholly Spanish-language album debut at number one on the Billboard 200 chart.
